GlobalConnect is embarking on a transformation journey, where the local country NOCs (Network Operation Centres) will join forces and represent a unified Group Operations Centre approach and work functionally rather than country specific. To head this transformation and engage an organisation with more than 40 people, we are looking for a Director with a professional outset in leading Operations teams and with excellent people skills.
You will report to the Head of Group Operations and will become part of the management team together with the Heads of Group Network Operations, Infrastructure, IT Operations, and IT Services. You can work out of either Sweden or Norway.
The Operations Centre Organization
The Group Operations Centres manage events and (major) incidents 24/7/365 on the core network and the IT production environment within the geographical areas, where Global Connect is operating. In total, approx. 40 people are working out in Fornebu Norway and Uppsala Sweden, and they support an organization in strong growth. The centres also manage physical access to the sites. Group Operations Centres are part of Group Operations with a total of 140-150 FTEs, where all work to ensure a high customer satisfaction and efficient operations processes.
The Job
In your role, you will be overall responsible for ensuring that the Operations Centres become and act as “one” common unit, and where employee engagement and their development are secured, while being in the middle of a transformation. Your organization will operate in a strong growth scenario that requires you to initiate efficiencies in processes, tools, and capabilities, implement new support tools, and simplify and consolidate ways of working. Some of the responsibilities will include:
- Translate, implement, and maintain the Group Operations Centre strategy and deliverables
- Management of the Group Operations Centre teams across country sites
- Design, implement and maintain transparent operational processes and SLAs
- Take full operational ownership of SLAs regarding services, incidents, alarms, and more
- Collect performance data and deliver improvement actions
- Map the teams’ competencies, optimize performance, and align SLAs with the OC Managers
- Ensure full transparency of roles and responsibilities within the country teams
The Profile
We are looking for you, who demonstrates strong leadership, with the ability to build, engage and motivate cross-national teams and make them collaborate and create synergies. We expect you to offer relevant experience and have the courage to operate autonomously, with strong analytical skills, coupled with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive. Your communication is transparent and clear, and you delegate tasks and empower people. Professionally, we are looking for the following skills:
- Experience in leading, growing and mentoring high performance Operations teams in a cross-functional organization (preferable Nordic) with high growth / need for scalability
- Understanding of the internet/connectivity services industry
- Experience with transformation journeys, executing change management, and developing operational excellence models
- ITIL knowledge, and possibly a certification
- Experience of building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers about building SLAs and KPIs and insight in how to create a customer centric working culture
- Fluency in English and a Scandinavian language, oral and in writing
